River Cats 10, Beavers 0
Saturday April 05, 2003WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Dave McCarty went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, leading the Sacramento River Cats to a 10-0 victory Friday night over the Portland Beavers.
McCarty also hit a solo home run to left field in the eighth. It was his second homer of the season. Sacramento took control in the seventh inning, scoring seven runs on five hits.
Graham Koonce contributed with a solo home run in the fourth, Chris Prieto had a two-run double in the seventh, and Bobby Crosby two-run single in the same inning for the River Cats.
Right-handed starting pitcher Mike Wood, and relievers Matt O'Brien, Chris Enochs, and Joe Valentine combined on a two-hit shutout for the River Cats.
Kory DeHaan and Michael Rivera had a hit each for the Beavers (0-2).
