Friday June 20, 2003WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Dave McCarty's two-run double highlighted a four-run fifth inning and led the Sacramento River Cats Thursday to a 6-3 victory over the Salt Lake Stingers.
McCarty was 2 for 4 on the evening, while Bobby Crosby added a solo home run, his 12th of the season, in the first inning.
Jose Flores went 2 for 4 and produced an RBI. Pitcher Mike Wood allowed one run on five hits in five innings and improved his record to 3-0.
The River Cats won the game despite hitting into a 6-3-2 triple play in the second inning. Chone Figgins hit a two-run single in the ninth inning for the Stingers.
