Tuesday June 24, 2003WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) With runners at first and second and two outs, Les Walrond got Jason Grabowski to pop up and helped the Omaha Royals defeat the River Cats 3-2 Tuesday.
Royals pitcher Mike Fyhrie, a former River Cat, allowed one run on six hits in 7 1/3 innings to improve his record to 4-1. He struck out eight and walked four.
Alexis Gomez had two hits and two RBI for the Royals, while Jarod Patterson had a hit and scored two runs.
Chris Prieto was 2 for 4 had an RBI and scored a run for the River Cats. Jose Flores had a hit and RBI.
