Padres sign Bush
Thursday December 12, 2002SAN DIEGO (AP) The San Diego Padres reacquired infielder Homer Bush on Thursday, agreeing to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.
The Padres picked Bush in the seventh round of the June 1991 draft. He was at Triple-A when he was sent to the New York Yankees as part of the Hideki Irabu deal in 1997.
Bush, primarily a second baseman, started last season with Toronto and was released on May 10 after hitting .231 with one home and two RBIs.
Bush signed with Florida on May 21 and was released on Sept. 1 after batting .222 with five RBIs.
