Sunday February 16, 2003RENO, Nev. (AP) Bruce Edwards hit a running jump shot with 6.2 seconds left in overtime to lift Louisiana Tech over Nevada 99-97 Saturday night.
Antonio Meeking scored 28 points to lead the Bulldogs (12-9, 9-5 Western Athletic Conference). Lavelle Felton had 23 points and Edwards 17 for Louisiana Tech.
Terrance Green had 31 points to lead Nevada (14-9, 9-4), but missed two free throws with 2.5 seconds left that could have tied the game. Todd Okeson and Jerry Petty had 15 points each for the Wolf Pack.
Louisiana Tech never trailed in regulation and led by eight points with 1:41 left in regulation. A pair of free throws by Green, a 3-pointer by Okeson and a long 3-poimter by Green with 17 seconds left tied the scored at 87 and forced overtime.
Nevada finished 37 of 56 from the free throw line as Louisiana Tech committed 39 personal fouls.
Louisiana Tech led 47-38 at halftime and led by as many as 16 points in the first half.
