TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) Southern California quarterback Matt Leinart left Saturday's game against Arizona State in the second quarter with an injured right leg.
Leinart's knee and ankle were X-rayed and he was replaced by Matt Cassel.
The injury occurred on USC's first play after Arizona State went ahead 10-7 on a field goal 23 seconds into the second quarter.
Leinart dropped back, and linebacker Justin Burks sacked him for a 4-yard loss as Leinart tumbled awkwardly in a crowd of players.
Leinart was 6-for-9 for 131 yards, including a 57-yard scoring pass to Keary Colbert, and one interception in the first quarter.
