Pole vaulter hurt in fall at U.S. championships
Saturday June 21, 2003STANFORD, Calif. (AP) Pole vaulter Lacy Janson of Florida State was taken to a hospital Saturday and later released after falling while attempting a vault at the U.S. track and field championships.
USA Track and Field officials said Janson, a sophomore who won the NCAA indoor title this year, was conscious and moving her arms before being taken off the field by medical personnel.
She was treated at nearby Stanford Hospital.
