Monday February 24, 2003CARTAGENA, Spain (AP) Alexander Aas headed in Edwin Van Ankeren's free kick in the 25th minute Monday as Odd Grenland of Norway defeated the MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy 1-0 in La Manga Cup 2003.
Odd Grenland, 2-0-1 for seven points in Group B, will face Group A winner Rosenborg, also from Norway, in Friday's championship match.
The Galaxy, 2-1-0 for six points, will play in Friday's third-place game against Norway's Viking Stavanger, the second-place finisher in Group A.
``I think that the opponent was well prepared and played with great desire,'' Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid said. ``Our goal in preseason is to look at players, prepare and win. Today, we forgot the last part.''
San Jose, the other MLS team in the eight-team tournament, lost to Stavangar Viking 3-1 Monday to finish last in four-team Group A with an 0-2-1 record.
