Patient at Long Beach facility held in employee's killing
Monday March 24, 2003LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) A patient at an adult care home was arrested for investigation of killing an employee during a scuffle, police said Sunday.
Cathy Ziegler, 44, was booked for investigation of murder. She got into a fight with another resident of the facility for mentally impaired adults at about 7 p.m. Saturday and then attacked an employee who tried to break up the fight, Sgt. Paul LeBaron said.
Lourdes Capitle, 56, of Long Beach, went to her office and dialed 911. She was taken to a hospital where she died about an hour later, LeBaron said.
The cause of her death was under investigation.
The fight involved pushing and shoving and no weapons were used, LeBaron said.
