Attorney general's wife gives birth to boy
Friday June 20, 2003SACRAMENTO (AP) Nadia Lockyer, the newlywed wife of state Attorney General Bill Lockyer, gave birth Friday to a boy, Lockyer's office said.
Diego Wallace Lockyer was born at 8 a.m. in Santa Ana. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and is 20 inches long.
The baby, mother and father were doing well, Lockyer's office said.
Lockyer, 61, and the former Nadia Maria Davis, a 31-year-old Orange County civil rights attorney, were married April 18 at a private ceremony in Northern California. They met during Democratic Party activities.
Lockyer, who is planning to run for governor in 2006, has been married twice before and has a grown daughter.
It is Nadia Lockyer's first marriage. She is a former Santa Ana school board member who began raising money last summer for a possible state Assembly campaign.
