Six Million Dollar Man says Universal owes him money
Wednesday January 01, 2003LOS ANGELES (AP) Lee Majors, known to 1970s television fans as the ``Six Million Dollar Man,'' wants more money.
Majors sued Universal City Studios Tuesday in Superior Court, claiming the studio failed to live up to a 1975 agreement that allegedly guaranteed him 15 percent of the show's net profits.
A late-night call seeking comment from Universal was not immediately returned.
The breach of contract suit contends that the studio's accounting ``incorrectly and improperly'' calculated what he was owed.
Majors sought unspecified damages.
The ``Six Million Dollar Man,'' which ran from 1973-78, starred Majors as a Col. Steve Austin, a NASA test pilot who is rebuilt with artificial parts after a plane crash and gains superhuman strength and speed. The show spawned several spinoffs, including the 1976 series ``The Bionic Woman.''
