WOODSIDE, Calif. (AP) High school robotics competitions have started again in California.
Barely into the new school year, a tournament at Woodside High School this weekend drew about two dozen teams from Northern California and one all the way from Los Angeles.
The fourth annual California Robot Games gave teams a chance to practice for larger tournaments this spring.
Teams were required to put their robots through obstacle courses and sumo wrestling matches, but some squads found the task a little difficult.
``Our robot died,'' said Steven Schlansker, a sophomore at Los Altos High School. ``This is the first time we had parts broken.''
