Trophy-winning floats in the 114th Tournament of Roses
Wednesday January 01, 2003PASADENA, Calif. (AP) Trophies were awarded to 23 floats entered in Wednesday's 114th Tournament of Roses under the theme ``Children's Dreams, Wishes and Imagination.''

Sweepstakes Trophy: ``Water Wonderland,'' Rain Bird Corporation. Most beautiful entry with outstanding floral presentation and design.
Lathrop K. Leishman Trophy: ``Where Dreams Still Take Flight Wright Brothers 1903-2003,'' The Outer Banks of North Carolina. Most beautiful float entered by a noncommercial sponsor.
President's Trophy: ``Fairytale Fantasy,'' FTD. Most effective floral use and presentation.
Grand Marshal's Trophy: ``Backyard Playground,'' Home Depot. Excellence in creative concept and design.
Directors' Trophy: ``Read Me a Story,'' Dr. Pepper. Outstanding artistic merit in design and floral presentation.
Theme trophy: ``A Sundae Afternoon,'' Cal Poly Universities of Pomona and San Luis Obispo. Excellence in presenting parade theme.
Judges' Special Trophy: ``Learning Can Be Magical,'' City of Cerritos, Calif. Most spectacular showmanship and dramatic impact.
Queen's Trophy: ``100 Years of Good Health, Happiness and Prosperity,'' City of Arcadia, Calif. Most effective use and display of roses in concept, design and presentation.
Isabella Coleman Trophy: ``Underwater Discovery,'' City of St. Louis, Mo. Best presentation of color and color harmony through use of flowers.
Princesses' Trophy: ``Catching the Brass Ring,'' City of Torrance, Calif. Most beautiful float under 35 feet in length.
Animation Trophy: ``Garden of Imagination,'' Bayer Advanced Garden. Best use of animation and motion.
Fantasy Trophy: ``Just Imagine,'' Eastman Kodak Company. Most outstanding display of fantasy and imagination.
Bob Hope Humor Trophy: ``Bathtub Races,'' Roto-Rooter Plumbers. Most comical and amusing entry.
International Trophy: ``Dreaming of Taiwan,'' China Airlines Ltd. Most beautiful entry from outside the continental United States.
National Trophy: ``A Big Adventure,'' Automobile Club of Southern California. Best depiction of life in the United States, past, present or future.
Governor's Trophy: ``Gateway to California,'' City of Ontario, Calif. Best depiction of life in California.
Founders' Trophy: ``Bathtime Friends!'' Burbank Tournament of Roses Association. Most beautiful float built and decorated by volunteers from a community or organization.
Mayor's Trophy: ``Backyard Heroes,'' La Canada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association. Most outstanding city entry (U.S. or international).
Tournament Special Trophy: ``A Village of Hope,'' Give Kids The World Village. Exceptional merit in multiple classifications, including floats that cannot retract to 55 feet in length.
Tournament Volunteers' Trophy: ``Sweet Dreams,'' Optimist International. Best floral design of parade theme in a float under 35 feet in length.
Extraordinaire Trophy: ``The Power of Dreams,'' American Honda Motor Co. Most spectacular entry including floats that cannot retract to 55 feet in length.
Past Presidents Trophy: ``Proud Past, Promising Future,'' Centennial Committee of Korean Immigration to the United States. Most creative design and use of both floral and nonfloral materials.
Craftsman Award: ``America's Youth Sounds of Freedom,'' Veterans of Foreign Wars. Exceptional achievement in showmanship and dramatic impact limited to floats more than 55 feet in length.
