KMAX: Doug Brauner
Doug Brauner
Doug Brauner can repair anything -- especially cars. Armed with 40 weight oil and a gift for teaching, Doug has literally used the tools of the trade to build a career in broadcasting as a reporter on KMAX's Good Day Sacramento. A native New Yorker, Doug began his fix-it career as an employee of Mazda Motors. After moving to Sacramento in 1987, he started an auto repair business with his family that continues to thrive today. He discovered a natural ability to explain the inner workings of automobiles to his repair shop customers. Later, he showed students how to repair cars in adult education classes. But Doug wanted to reach more people with his gift for gab and car gaskets. He discovered broadcasting. Bowing in as Doug the "Car Czar" on Good Day Sacramento, Doug has parlayed his talent into a weekly radio show on KHTK SPORTS 1140 AM in addition to his daily reporting job on Good Day Sacramento. But Doug is talking about a lot more than cars. Every Wednesday, Doug brings the viewer "On Line" and offers great tips and tricks to enhance your computing experience. On Fridays, Doug goes "Around The House" with practical information for all of your home and garden projects. In between all of this talking, Doug was voted "sexiest reporter" by listeners of 98 Rock -- an honor that Doug says "confused me and really perplexed my wife."E-mail The Car Czar! |
