KMAX Public Affairs looks for ways to bring television closer to home. How can a television station possibly improve the quality of life for you, our viewer? By taking a look at the issues that affect us all, concentrating on our families and our community.UPN 31 prides itself in reaching out to the community through various programs that address family, education, health, and more.The station is also pleased to present Viacommunity Day. One day a year, station employees join other Viacom divisions to volunteer in the community. In June 2002, UPN 31 employees partnered with Infinity radio stations and held a car wash to benefit the local Muscular Dystrophy Association. The station has also supported other organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, United Negro College Fund, Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, National Kidney Foundation, our local schools, and more.UPN 31 most recently introduced the nationally recognized Kindervision program. The program offers a video that includes a unique safety message and an interactive recording of the child who owns it. The video is offered free of charge to parents; and recordings are available in English and Spanish. UPN 31 has presented the program at several community events throughout Sacramento and Modesto areas. Parents can receive a free Kindervision safety video at upcoming events including the Run to Feed the Hungry on Thanksgiving morning.
