LOS ANGELES (AP) A 6-year-old boy was shot in the head as he sat with his parents and brothers in an SUV, police said.
The boy was struck by a bullet from a passing car around 8 p.m. Sunday night and was taken to a nearby hospital.
He was listed in critical condition.
The boy, whose name was not released, was sitting in the car in South Los Angeles when suspects drove past and began shooting, police said.
A man across the street came out of his house and fired an AK-47 at the fleeing assailants, police said.
