LOS ANGELES (AP) As many as 25 suspected illegal immigrants were discovered in an apartment Monday night by police responding to a kidnapping call, officials said.
Two people were detained after police arrived about 5 p.m. at the apartment complex just west of downtown, said Officer Adriana Sanchez, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
Immigration officials were called to the scene and the case was taken over by the police Robbery-Homicide Division, which oversees kidnapping cases. Further details were unavailable.
