2:08 pm US/Pacific 1. How to Enter the Contest: (a) The Win a Raft Trip Contest will begin on . (b) To participate in the contest, fill out the entry form provided at www.upn31.com. All members of the UPN-31 "Notify Me" program are eligible. One entry will qualify you for each week's drawing through July 4, 2002. A random drawing from the UPN-31 "Notify Me" entries will determine the Rafting Trip winner each week. (c) Limit one entry per e-mail address. (d) Contest sponsors are not responsible for technical errors of any kind, lost or unavailable telephone connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or incomprehensible telephone connection or e-mail message, busy signals, any other technical difficulty or human error that may limit the ability to play, participate or win the contest. (e)UPN31 KMAX will never reveal your e-mail address or any other personal information to any other party. Read our privacy statement at www.upn31.com 2. Eligibility Restrictions: (a) The contest is open to California residents over 21 years old. Employees of KMAX, Viacom Inc., American River Raft Rentals other television and radio stations in the market, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate or win. Winners must use their Rafting Prizes during the 2002 season. (b) Entrants are eligible to win a KMAX contest only once every sixty days. Only one winner per e-mail address is permitted in any contest. (c) Viewers are eligible to win a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months. (d) By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and warrant and represent that their entry is their original work, and grant to Station the right to edit, publish, broadcast, promote and otherwise use their entries without further permission, notice or compensation. (e) No purchase necessary. 3. Prizes: (a) One certificate good for one 4-person raft rental and shuttle for 4 people will be given away on each of these dates: June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5. (b) All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of KMAX. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within five days of winning and an alternate winner may be chosen. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. KMAX is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. (c) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. Station reserves the right to substitute prize of comparable value. (b) Decisions of contest sponsors with respect to the contest are final. 5. Conditions: (a) Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner and winners may receive an IRS Form 1099 or equivalent from Station. (b) By participating in the contest, the winner or winners (or, in the case of a minor, their parent/legal guardian) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and to sign a publicity release, affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to acceptance of the prize. If a prizewinner is a minor, prize may be awarded to the minor's parent or legal guardian and that winners travel companion must be his/her parent or legal guardian. Travel companion must travel with winner and must also sign and return a travel release, which must be returned with winners affidavit of eligibility. By accepting the prize, each winner and travel companion grants to Station the right to use the winner's and travel companions name, voice, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). All expenses on receipt and use of prize, and all federal, state and local taxes, are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner and travel companion, by acceptance of their prizes, agree to release Station, Viacom, Inc., CBS, their respective parents and subsidiaries, officers, directors, shareholders and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity. Void where prohibited by law. 6. Contest sponsors reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, which will become effective upon announcement. 7. No purchase necessary. The contest is void where prohibited. 8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestants disqualification. 9. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
